The RW Series wheel weigher is designed for all types of vehicle weighing applications such as garbage trucks, landscaping trucks, mixers hauling concrete, trailer trucks with unevely packed freight on board. Police Departments & Municipalities If you are a police department or agency of the state you will need the NTEP (legal for trade) version of the wheel weighers. One of many applications is for police officers pulling over potentially overloaded trucks. Four of these scales can be carried in a police cruiser and handled by one officer. Overweight trucks are a hazard on the road because they alter the safety characteristics of trucks. Brakes rated for a safe stopping distance can not stop an overweight truck in a safe distance or time. Officers can identify a potentially overweight truck by its slow, belabored rate of acceleration after a traffic light stop, by extreme compression of the suspension system, bulges in the tires or by an officer's judgement call. These wheel weigher systems pay for themselves by the tickets officers write which goes back to the municipality's revenue.  FAQ's How many wheel weighers do we need to weigh a vehicle? To weigh vehicles you will need at least 2 wheel weighers and 1 totalizer cable ($85). If you would like 4 wheel weighers (for all 4 wheels of a vehicle), you'll need 3 totalizer cables. What's the price for just two wheel weighers (small size) and the totalizer cable? The minimum price would be: > 2pcs: Wheel Weighers - Small base (RW-S) $1,595 ea. = $3,190 > 1pc: Totalizer Cable - $85 > Freight = TBD (call for quote) > Total = $3,275 + freight What is the pricing for these scales and the totalizer cable? 1 Wheel Weigher (10,000 or 20,000lb capacity) - Small Base (RW-S) = $1,595 1 Wheel Weigher (10,000 or 20,000lb capacity) - Large Base (RW-L) = $1,995 Totalizer Cable = $85 Each scale pad would weigh up to 10,000lb or 20,000lbs depending on the model. So if you purchased the 10,000lb pads (2 pcs) the maximum total you could weigh would be 20,000lbs. * Pricing for NTEP (police use) and non-NTEP scales are the same. What are the base sizes and weights of each wheel weigher? The small base (RW-S) is 21.1in x 18in x 2.4in and weighs about 57lbs. The large base (RW-L) is 24in x 13in x 2.4in and weighs about 90lbs. How long is the totalizer cable? Again the totalizer cable is paired up with each wheel weigher. The length of the cable is around 12-16ft long and is fits in between the wheels being weighed.
